Our People, Our Personality
Kim Scott,
owner of The Yoga Place, has been teaching yoga for 7 years. She
shares her passion for yoga and the inner strength it brings with all
her students, whether teaching at her studio or at local high schools,
colleges and universities. Kim believes that beyond all the benefits for
the body, it is the centering of the mind that is most beneficial to
students. She enjoys teaching energetic styles of yoga with a fun
attitude.
Andrew Criswell
has been teaching yoga in Midland for the last 9 years. He is a
Certified Teacher of Hatha Yoga and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Andrew
studied at the Temple of Kriya Yoga under Goswami Kriyananda. His
teaching style is relaxed, with an emphasis on traditional yoga
principles of focus, awareness and alignment.
Amy Kruske
is a Registered Nurse and a Reiki Master trained by William Rand. Reiki
is administered by the "laying on of hands", but more importantly by
the joining of the minds in love and acceptance. Amy believes that
through a process of mutual forgiveness, the past is released and the
truth remembered of who we really are - perfect oneness with God. Amy
feels Reiki can be best described simply as the sharing of Love which in
truth is what we are. Akiko Dykhuizen has been practicing yoga since 2003 and began
teaching at The Yoga Place in 2009. Her own practice has focused on
Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow, and her teaching style emphasizes alignment
and a gentle approach for increasing body awareness. She enjoys
teaching, learning and sharing, and has been enriched through working
with people with limited mobility and her study of anatomy. She is
certified in advanced training in Yoga through the National Exercise
Trainer's Association.
